How do I complete the Taiwan Online Arrival Card (TWAC) registration?

Step 1: Before You Travel to Taiwan
Complete and submit the Taiwan Online Arrival Card form online. You must do this within 3 days prior to your arrival date in Taiwan.

Step 2: When You Arrive in Taiwan
Show your TWAC registration to the immigration officer for passport verification.

Yes, the following individuals do not need to complete the Taiwan Online Arrival Card (TWAC):

  • Those who already have a valid visa

  • Holders of Alien Resident Certificates

  • Holders of diplomatic ID cards issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, R.O.C. (Taiwan)

  • Individuals without household registration in Taiwan, unless they hold a R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate

  • Citizens of Mainland China

  • Residents of Hong Kong and Macau

Yes, it’s strongly recommended to complete the TWAC, just in case you need to unexpectedly enter Taiwan. When filling out the form, select “Accommodation of Stay” as OTHERS, and for the address, write:
“In Case of Emergency – Transit Only [Flight Number]”.

Yes, even if you are only transiting through Taiwan and staying inside the airport, you are still required to complete the Taiwan Arrival Card if you are a foreign traveler—unless you are a Taiwanese citizen or hold an ARC. Even for short layovers where you don’t pass through immigration, a valid arrival card is technically still needed.

Yes, you are allowed to complete the TWAC for someone else. However, the traveler must personally go through immigration and present all the details as submitted in the form.
